Stephanie Smith, ARNP, FNP-C
Stephanie provides excellent assistance to Dr. Bartelt and his partners with every aspect of your care at Cedar Valley Orthopedic Surgery & Physical Therapy. She has the pleasure of treating patients of all ages, from infancy to adults. Stephanie has been fascinated with orthopedics from a young age. Growing up in a large and very active family, injuries were a way of life. Stephanie often jokes that between her three brothers, her sister and herself, they kept local ERs and ORs quite busy.
As Stephanie entered the healthcare field, she was able to observe surgery as a young nursing student where her love of orthopedics was affirmed. Upon graduation in 2015, Stephanie took a position at Sartori Memorial Hospital as a surgical nurse. Stephanie then went on to receive her graduate degree from Allen College while working at Allen Hospital in the operating room. She is also certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her professional interests include:
- Joint Replacement Surgery
- Sports Medicine
- Orthopedic Trauma
Stephanie says, “I feel so fortunate to have found such a perfect position that combines my nursing experience, skills and passion. I want to provide each patient with a personalized experience. I want you all to know that I take pride in providing patient-centered care. I am your biggest cheerleader and be sure to remind you all that we are in this together.”
In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, baking and being creative.

Erin Roberts, ARNP, FNP-C, ONP-C
Erin joins the team at Cedar Valley Orthopedic Surgery & Physical Therapy with many years of orthopedic experience. Erin provides assistance to Dr. Thomas Gorsche and his partners at Cedar Valley Orthopedic Surgery & Physical Therapy treating all ages and addressing all conditions.
Erin has 17 years of Orthopedic nursing experience and has worked in a variety of clinical settings starting as a Medical Receptionist/Transcriptionist immediately out of high school unsure of what to be when she grew up. Further interest in medical terminology, medications and treatment plans guided her into nursing years later.
Erin knew she wanted a career where she could help others and impact their lives in a meaningful way. She works to honor patients and earn their trust by acknowledging that each patient is their own individual with their own cultural and spiritual beliefs, values and preferences. Everyone is on a unique journey with individual goals. In Orthopedics, we don’t save lives; we make them worth living. Every patient every time.
